The New York University women's golf team was crowned Jack Leaman Invitational champions on Sunday, April 16, at the Amherst College-hosted tournament in South Hadley, MA.
The Violets shot 610 over the weekend after posting the third-lowest round score (300) in program history on Sunday. Williams College matched NYU's second-round score, but trailed in second place with an overall score of 616.
"I am so pleased with the way the women played today," said Assistant Coach
Meaghan Kenny. "Everyone was able to improve from yesterday's score."
Saturday's leader,
Jenni Bluetling, retained her lead on Sunday and won the individual championship by shooting the second-lowest 36-hole score in NYU team history with a 146 (74-72). The sophomore's second-round score was tied for the lowest of the tournament.

Alyssa Poentis and sophomore
Patty Treevichaphan followed close behind in third (149) and fifth place (153), respectively.
"Jenni, Alyssa and Patty were so solid this weekend. Jenni's individual win is fantastic!" exclaimed Kenny.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Freshman
Ashley Tsoi, playing as NYU's individual, finished in a three-way tie for 14th, recording a score of 160 (82-78).
- Classmate
Arisa Kimura took 19th with a score of 162 (82-80).
- Senior captain Mikeala Santos finished in 23rd by shooting 165 (87-78) over the weekend.
"Winning this tournament is great for us heading into the Liberty League Championship next weekend. We are looking forward to it," said Kenny.
NYU will host the Liberty League Championship on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, NY.
