Pike Named Centennial Wrestler of the Year

Junior All-American Earns Conference Honors



The Centennial Conference announced on Wednesday afternoon, February 17, that Nathan Pike of the New York University wrestling team was selected as the Conference Wrestler of the Year.

The junior 133-pounder, who placed sixth at last season's NCAA Championship to earn All-America honors, sports a 25-2 record this season. Additionally, Pike is ranked #1 at 133 pounds by both the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) and d3wrestle.com in the most recent rankings.

Prior to this award, Pike had already earned to Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week accolades.

In addition to Pike's accomplishment, his teammate Dylan Lojac was selected to the Centennial Conference's All-Sportsmanship. He is one of seven wrestlers (one from each team) to be given this honor.

Pike, Lojac and the rest of the NYU grapplers will return to action tomorrow night, Thursday, February 18, for a tri-match at Division II Long Island University-Post. The squad will face the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 5:30 pm, followed by the host Pioneers at 7:00 pm.
