Over the four-day meet, new NYU team records were set in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 400-yard medley relay, 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle, and 1,650-yard freestyle.

The Violets placed ninth of 57 teams with 153 points, and Kenyon College won the competition with 468 points.

Freshman Austin Palmer competed in the 1,650-yard freestyle finals, finishing fifth in the nation and earning All-American honors. His mile time of 15:29.54 bested the previous NYU team record of 15:34.71 which Palmer set earlier this season. During the same race, Palmer also broke the team 1,000-yard freestyle record of 9:23.96 which he set earlier this season with his split time of 9:22.29.

"I'm pretty excited that we finished in the top ten," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We couldn't have swam any better and we had a really great weekend. They busted their butts from day one, and it's really great to see that pay off. I'm really proud of them all, especially our seniors."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Senior captain Matt Kendall finished the 200-yard breaststroke in fourth place overall with a time of 1:59.82, earning receiving All-American honors and breaking the previous NYU team record of 2:00.25 which he set earlier today in preliminaries.

- Senior captain Jerry Crowley won the 100-yard freestyle consolation finals for a ninth-place finish overall (44.53), earning an All-America Honorable Mention.

- Adam Betts finished the 200-yard backstroke with a team record-breaking time of 1:47.23, winning the consolation finals to place ninth overall and receive Honorable Mention All-America accolades. The freshman set the previous record of 1:48.10 earlier today.

- The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Crowley, freshman Chad Moody, sophomore Win Htet Oo, and sophomore Max Phillips placed fifth during consolation finals and 13th overall with a time of 3:02.29, earning the foursome All-American Honorable Mentions.

"It was a good meet overall and I'm happy for the team," said Crowley. "I know we had some ups and downs with disqualifications, but those are all learning experiences, especially for those who will be here for two or three more years, and I just hope that I did my best to help them grow as swimmers. I wish them the best going forward."

This competition concludes the men's swimming & diving 2014-15 season.
