Matt DiGiovanni of the New York University wrestling team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, January 28. 

The junior co-captain went 2-0 at 157 pounds on Saturday, January 25, as NYU split a pair of dual matches against Centennial Conference rivals Johns Hopkins University and Washington and Lee University.

DiGiovanni posted a 5-4 decision against Christian Salera of the Bluejays, and a 13-1 major decision over Alex Niemann of the Generals. He now boasts an overall record of 12-5 for the season, including three wins by fall and three major decisions.

NYU will return to the mat on Saturday afternoon, February 1, when it participates in a tri-match on the road against Centennial foes Muhlenberg College and host Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.
