The New York University women's volleyball team (17-2, 1-1) opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Saturday, October 5, at the UAA Round Robin #, in Cleveland, OH.
In their first match of the day, the Violets defeated host Case Western Reserve University (9-11, 0-2) in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-23.
In the later match, NYU fell to Emory University (20-1, 2-0), currently ranked #4 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. The Eagles won in straight-sets by scores of 25-17, 25-13, 25-13.
NYU vs. Case Highlights:

Perri Goldberg led NYU with 15 kills.

MaTia Hughes recorded 18 digs.

Alexandria Mao had a great all-around match with nine kills and 18 digs.

Emily Moore dished out 33 assists.
NYU vs. Emory Highlights:
- Goldberg led the team with five kills.
- Moore was team high in both assists and digs with, 12 and five, respectively.

Katie Robinson filled the stat sheet with four kills, five assists and three digs.
- Emory out-blocked NYU 11-1.
- Twelve Violets saw action in the match.

Jolie Ward. "Perri dominated and MaTia dazzaled at libero in her opening match of UAA play."
NYU will play its last match of the Round Robin on Sunday, October 6, against Carnegie Mellon University. First serve is set for 10:00am.
