Final Results
The New York University women's golf team looked to finish strong in the second round of its third annual NYU Invitational on Sunday, September 16, at the Split Rock Golf Course in the Bronx, NY. The squad did exactly that, moving up two spots from round one to finish fifth overall with a round score of 315, ending the tournament with a total of 657 strokes.
Williams College surged ahead to win the tournament with a two-day score of 627, finishing a commanding 13 strokes ahead of second-place Middlebury College.
Highlights
-The second-day total of 315 tied NYU's record mark for lowest single-round score.

Elaine Tse's eagle on the par-5 fifth hole helped her tie an NYU individual record for lowest single-round score, carding an impressive 74 for the day. She finished the tournament tied for fifth place with an overall score of 157.

Kristina Shalhoup tallied a 37 on the back nine, ending the round with a score of 81 and finished 18th with an overall score of 165
-Two golfers, Tse (74) and
Savannah Graham (78) carded scores in the 70's for the second round.
-The Violets had three scorers conclude the tournament in the top 20, not counting
Natasha How, who competed as an individual and tied for 18
th place.
“Obviously, we played better today," said Head Coach
Todd Kolean.. "We played as one team, including our two individual players. With a 26-stroke improvement from yesterday, I'm pretty happy about the way today went.”
The Violets return to the course next Saturday, September 22, for the Mount Holyoke Invitation held at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, MA.
