Evans Named UAA Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Qualified for NCAA Division III Championships at Princeton

Evans led the way for NYU this weekend at the Princeton Elite Meet

New York University sophomore Maeve Evans has been named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Athlete of the Week for women's track & field.

The Swanton, VT, native and indoor All-American ran a 4:29.19 in the 1,500 meters at the Princeton Elite Meet at Princeton University on Saturday and automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships later this month. Evans finished fourth in the race and has now posted the third-fastest time in the event in Division III this season.

This is the first UAA Athlete of the Week award for Evans, who earned Second Team All-UAA honors in the 1,500 meters earlier this season.

Evans and the Violets return to action on May 10, when the team travels to Swarthmore, PA, to compete at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.
