ECAC Results
A handful of women's and men's track & field team members participated at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Springfield, MA, on Thursday and Friday, May 13-14.
Freshman Hannah Satzke was the only competitor for the women's team. She took ninth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:21.04.
Only the top eight finishers score points.
The top performance by a Violet at the meet was turned in by sophomore Ryan Boyd of the men's team. Competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, he posted a third-place finish in a time of 9:25.08 and secured six points for the team.
Also running in that event was freshman Brian Broderick, who finished ninth with a time of 9:53.99.
"It was a solid race for Ryan," said NYU assistant coach James McCarthy. "He still has a chance to qualify for nationals."
Earlier this season, Boyd ran a personal-best time of 9:15.84. That is currently the 15th-best time posted in NCAA Division III this season.
"Running in championship meets such as this is a great experience for our underclassmen," McCarthy said.
