Senior men's volleyball player Mike Ferragonio has been named to the 2010 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) All-Academic Team.
Hailing from Irwin, PA, Ferragonio is an economics major in NYU's College of Arts and Science. He is a three-year member of the team and served as co-captain this season.
From his position as outside hitter, Ferragonio finished second on the team in kills with 222. He also ranked second on the team in service aces with 26.
To be eligible for inclusion on the EIVA All-Academic Team, the following criteria must be met:
1. The student-athlete must not be a freshman.
2. The student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher
3. The student-athlete must have participated in at least 60% of the games played by their team.
Ferragonio will be honored again later this month when he receives a 2010 NYU Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award.
