New York University sophomores Molly Rippe and Kelly Dietz, as well as freshman Tatum Gormley were selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at Beloit College in Minneapolis, MN, later this month.
Qualifiers were announced on Friday, March 5,
Rippe, a long-distance specialist, posted an NCAA A-cut time in the 1,650 freestyle (17:14.66) and a B-cut time in the 500 freestyle (5:04.44) during the season.
Gormley, who was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Rookie of the Year, posted B-cut times in the 100 butterfly (57.55), the 200 butterfly (2:08.26), the 200 individual medley (2:07.79), and the 400 individual medley (4:31.62).
Dietz, a diver for the Violets, posted qualifying scores in the one-meter and three-meter events with totals of 419.20 and 431.70, respectively.
In order to qualify for the NCAA Championships, competitors need only to be selected in one event. However, once selected, athletes may choose to compete in up to three events.
Rippe will race in the 200, 500, and 1,650 freestyle events, while Gormley will compete in the 200 and 400 individual medleys, as well as the 100 butterfly. Dietz will take part in both diving events.
The four-day meet will run from March 17-20.
