Jamesson Tabbed as UAA Athlete of the Week

Freshman Placed 13th at NCAA Championships

Jamesson placed 13th in men's foil at his first NCAA Championships

New York University freshman fencer Phil Jamesson has been named University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.

Jamesson registered 11 victories in men's foil for the Violets at the NCAA Championships at Harvard over the weekend.

Competing in his first NCAA Championships, Jamesson took 13th place overall in the weapon, the best individual showing for NYU. He finished with a -2 indicator rating on 84 touches scored to 86 touches received.

Jamesson's performance helped lead NYU to a 16th-place national finish, the highest of any Division III school in the nation.

It is the sixth time in his rookie season that Jamesson has been named UAA Athlete of the Week.
