Several distance runners on New York University’s men’s and women’s track & field teams participated in the Miami Hurricane Invitational on Friday, March 19, in Coral Gables, FL.
The Violets were represented in the men’s and women’s 5,000-meter events, as well as the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Freshman Brian Broderick, competing in his first collegiate outdoor meet, finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:58.76.
In the men’s 5,000 meter, freshman David Knowles made his first-ever collegiate outdoor performance memorable, as well, taking ninth place with a time of 16:05.71. Senior Jason Desselet finished 19th (16:43.00).
In the women’s 5,000-meter race, junior Katherine Wang finished in 15th place (20:55.36), while freshman Kelsey Holland took 17th (22:42.74) in her first collegiate outdoor competition.
