Three New York University men's fencers qualified to compete in the NCAA Championship after their performances at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Sunday, March 14, at Brown University in Providence, RI.

Freshman Phil Jamesson, junior Byron Neslund and senior Sam Roukas will face off against the top fencing competition from around the country at the NCAA Championship, which will take place from March 25-28 at Harvard University in Boston, MA.

Jamesson, Neslund and Roukas clinched their Championship berths at the NCAA Northeast Regionals with their strong performances in each of their weapons. Jamesson and Neslund were the top performers for the entire Violet team, placing fifth in the men's foil and men's epee competitions, respectively. Roukas finished eighth in sabre.

Senior Andrew Stanco received an at-large bid in men's epee with his 10th-place finish at the Regional Championship, which means he has a chance to qualify but will not know for a few days.

This marks the fourth consecutive NCAA berth for Roukas and the first for Jamesson and Neslund.   Stanco would be making his first national championship appearance, as well.
