After pacing the New York University women's soccer team in scoring and helping the Violets earn their second straight appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metropolitan Tournament title game, Filiz Kipcakli earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III Third Team All-East Region honors.
In addition to setting a school record with six game-winning goals last fall, Kipcakli's eight goals and 19 points represented team highs for the Violets (10-9-1). She finished the 2009 campaign with nine career game-winning goals in her career, tying her atop the NYU leaderboard with Alexa Kokinos (1998-2001).
Entering her senior year, Kipcakli is tied for fifth all-time in assists (9) and sixth in both goals (22) and points (53).
A two-time Honorable Mention All-University Athletic Association selection (2008, 2009), Kipcakli became the second Violet in as many seasons to garner All-East Region accolades. Sarah Pillemer was tabbed to the Third Team in 2008.
