Jamesson, Powell Compete at Jr. Olympic Nationals

Freshmen Continue Strong Debut Seasons in Memphis

Jamesson (left) has enjoyed an excellent freshman season.

Two New York University freshman fencers were in Memphis, TN, over the weekend to take part in the United States Fencing Association Junior Olympic National Championships.

In the men's foil competition, Phil Jamesson placed 52th out of 205 competitors, while in the men's epee, Justin Powell finished 139th of 208.

Jamesson has enjoyed an excellent debut season at NYU, compiling a 42-19 record.

Powell has also been solid a contributor for the Violets early in his career, appearing in 42 bouts and  winning 17.

The men's fencing team will be back in action Mar. 14 at the NCAA Regionals at Brown University in Providence, RI.
