Women's Swimming & Diving Team Looking to Bounce Back vs. Vassar

Violets Return to Action Follwing First Loss of Season

Pfohl will be counted on in Saturday's meet at Vassar.

The New York University women's swimming & diving team had perfection in mind last weekend before being dealt its first loss of the season, 161-137, by The College of New Jersey. Now,  the Violets (7-1) are looking to return to their winning ways when they face Vassar College (2-3) on the road on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Before last weekend's loss, the Violets were ranked #19 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Poll. The loss to the #11 TCNJ squad, should not be too much of a deterrent for NYU. The Violets are still in a good position entering the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. That event will be held at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, from Feb. 17-20.

NYU head coach Lauren Beam will look to junior Chelsea Pfohl, as well as sophomores Molly Rippe and Kristen Fujii, to lead the Violet charge against Vassar. All three posted first and second-place finishes in the loss to TCNJ.

Another bright spot in the meet for NYU will be sophomore diver Kelly Dietz. The six-time UAA Athlete of the Week posted victories in both of last weekend's diving events.

The Vassar meet will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Results will be available on goNYUathletics.com.
