Pcholinski Sprints Way To UAA Honor

Senior Named Athlete of the Week For Performance Against TCNJ

Pcholinski won two individual events against The College of New Jersey.

NYU's Eric Pcholinski has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week in men's swimming for Jan. 25, 2010.

Pcholinski posted two first-place finishes in the Violets' home loss to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Jan. 23. The sprinter specialist notched victories in the 50 freestyle (21.74) and the 100 freestyle (47.31). Pcholinski also swam the anchor leg for NYU's second-place 200-medley relay (1:40.04). Despite the efforts of Pcholinski, the Violets lost by a score of 179-116.

It is the first time this season and the second time in Pcholinski's career that he has been named UAA Athlete of the Week.
