The NYU women’s swimming and diving team is ranked #19 in the latest College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Poll.

The Violets are currently undefeated at 7-0 and are coming off an impressive 180-120 win over rival Springfield College. A year ago, NYU was handed its first loss of the season by Springfield, so head coach Lauren Beam and her charges were pleased to gain a measure of revenge.

“It's always a big meet when we play Springfield," said Beam. "Every year they give us great competition and something to really look forward to.”

NYU returns to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 23, when it hosts The College of New Jersey as part of family and senior day festivities. The list of senior swimmers includes Patricia Beck, Kelsey Dean, co-captain Danielle Hildebrandt, co-captain Kacey McCaffrey, Elyssa Romino, and Meg Weichman. Skyler Courter, Charlotte Lazare and Lucia Liu are the three senior divers to be honored on Saturday.

Even with the TCNJ meet on the horizon, the team is already gearing up for the University Athletic Association Championships, which will be held Feb.17-20 in Atlanta, GA.

“(Our) depth will be the largest factor for success at upcoming meets, including the UAA Championships,” Beam said.
