Stein Named UAA Co-Athlete of the Week
Sophomore Center Averages 17 Points and Four Rebounds in 1-2 Week
Stein is averaging 23.3 minutes per game in his sophomore campaign.

New York University center Andy Stein was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Athlete of the Week in men's basketball on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The Violets went 1-2 last week, defeating Wesleyan University on Monday, but falling to UAA rivals University of Chicago and Washington University over the weekend.
Stein averaged 17 points and four rebounds on 60.6 percent shooting to lead the Violets in scoring in all three games. He produced a career-best 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting in the 99-78 triumph at Wesleyan. Stein then posted 17 points and five rebounds in the 65-58 loss at Chicago on Friday. Two days later, he tallied 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting in a tight 60-57 setback at third-ranked Washington. .
Through 14 games this season, Stein is averaging 11.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. He’s also blocked a team-high 16 shots.
It is the first time in his career that Stein has been named UAA Athlete of the Week.
