On Saturday, Jan. 16, the New York University women's swimming & diving team hosts Springfield College at the Palladium Athletic Facility. The Violets (6-0) return from winter training to compete in their first official meet of 2010.

The Violets have only three dual meets left before competing in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in Atlanta, GA (2/17-20). Before this season began, head coach Lauren Beam identified Springfield as one of the biggest meets of the year. The 2008-09 NYU squad lost to Springfield 119-124 (1/14/2009) en route to a 9-1 dual meet record. This year, the undefeated Violets face a 6-2 Springfield team.

In order to advance to 7-0, NYU will rely heavily on senior co-captains Danielle Hildebrandt and Kacey McCaffrey, as well as sophomore distance swimmer Molly Rippe. Sophomore Kelly Dietz, a five-time UAA Athlete of the Week this season, will lead the Violet effort on the diving board.

The meet will start at 1:00pm on Saturday. Results will be available on gonyuathletics.com.
