John Mish's stellar senior season earned him another postseason accolade, as New York University star center was selected to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Second Team All-Met Division III men's basketball squad.
A 6-5, 200-pound pivot who often opposed players 2-3 inches taller than him, Mish averaged career highs of 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting a personal-best 57.0% from the floor as NYU went 17-11 and reached the championship game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metropolitan Tournament.
Mish also recorded 12 double-doubles in his final collegiate season en route to earning First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) honors. He led the UAA in rebounding, while ranking second in field-goal percentage and fifth in scoring. In an 84-71 victory at Association rival the University of Rochester on Feb. 13, Mish tallied a career-best 28 points.
Earlier in the season, Mish collected MVP honors at the Kean University THE ROCK Cougar Classic and the NYU Tip-Off Tournament, and was also tabbed to the NYU Holiday Tournament All-Tournament Team.
