Ryan Finnigan has been hired as an assistant coach with the New York University men’s soccer team. His primary responsibilities will revolve around the Violets’ recruiting efforts, but will also include scheduling, game analysis, preseason workouts, travel, and the team’s fitness program.
A January 2010 NYU graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, Finnigan was a member of the Violets’ 2006 team that reached the NCAA Division III Championship Final Four. He has spent the past two seasons as the team’s student manager and also worked as a student assistant in the NYU Sports Information Office.
During his time as a NYU student, Finnigan also served wealth management internships for J.P. Morgan and for Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group Division.
The founder and assistant soccer coach of Finn’s Footie, an annual four-day summer soccer clinic for high school- and college-level athletes, Finnigan also worked as a guest coach for Long Island’s ODP (Olympic Development Program).
Finnigan is a native and resident of Syosset, NY.
