Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

With six of the fall season's seven NCAA championships completed, New York University is currently  ranked #16 in the second installment of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division III standings.

The Violets' strong national ranking was spurred by the success of their cross country teams and the women's volleyball team, all of which qualified for their respective national Championships.

The NYU men's cross country team finished in fourth place nationally, while the women made their first trip ever to the national championship meet and finished 24th.

Meanwhile, the Violets' women's volleyball team compiled a 28-9 regular season record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament where it fell to Christopher Newport University.

The final fall standings are expected to be released on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
