The New York University women's swimming & diving remains undefeated (5-0) following a 228-71 win over Rowan University on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Palladium Athletic Facility.

The Violets claimed first place in 10 of 12 individual events. Sophomore Kristen Fujii helped lead the way with victories in the 100 backstroke (1:01.79) and the 100 freestyle (56.54).

Freshmen Savanna Keator and Tatum Gormley also contributed to the Violet effort. Keator won the 50 freestyle (25.54) and the 200 freestyle (1:59.99), while Gormley topped the field in the 200 breaststroke (2:29.07) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.31).

Senior co-captain Danielle Hildebrandt won the 200 butterfly event with a time of 2:12.40.

Overall, seven different Violets won individual events.

NYU also finished one-two in both relays, the 200 medley relay (1:53.42) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:45.97).

"I was pleasantly surprised with how we swam for the third meet of the season," said NYU assistant coach Erik Brandl, who was filling in on Saturday for head coach Lauren Beam. "We really rallied together today and there were contributions from all around."

On the diving board, sophomore Kelly Dietz posted first-place scores of 267.52 in the one-meter dive and 271.58 in the three-meter dive. Dietz has won all of her six events so far this season. Junior Amanda Moffa garnered a second-place finish in the one-meter diving event (194.18) and a third-place finish in the three-meter dive with a personal-best total of 223.12.

"You can really see the improvement among our divers," said NYU diving coach Scott Donie. "Each meet scores are getting higher and higher."

The Violets will be on the road for their next four meets, beginning on Friday (Nov. 13) when NYU competes at the two-day Princeton University Invitational.
