The New York University women's swimming & diving team looks to continue its winning ways this weekend when the team travels to Swarthmore College. The Violets will try to preserve their perfect season (5-0) when competition begins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21.
Last weekend, NYU competed against three Division I schools at the Princeton University Invitational. Although there was no team scoring, the Violets made their presence felt. Sophomore Molly Rippe led all Violet finishes with an seventh-place finish in the 1650 freestyle (17:32.86). On the diving board, sophomore Kelly Dietz, a four-time University Athletic Association (UAA) on the season, posted a fourth-place score of 231.45 in the three-meter dive and a sixth-place score of 220.35 in the one-meter diving event.
Head coach Lauren Beam and her NYU squad might have a perfect season crossing their line of thought, but they know better than to look past Swarthmore. Despite topping them 135-63 a season ago, NYU is not taking this weekend's competition lightly. Swarthmore returns the core of its team, including five-time All-American swimmer Anne Miller.
