On Monday, Nov. 16, New York University sophomore Kelly Dietz was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for women's diving. Dietz was the top Violet diver at the Princeton University Invitational held on Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14.
Despite facing Division I competition, the sophomore impressed her opponents, claiming fourth place in the three-meter dive 231.45 points. Dietz then posted a sixth-place total of 220.35 points in the one-meter diving event. There was no team scoring at the invitational, which featured three Division I schools.
This is the fourth straight week that Dietz has been named the UAA Athlete of the Week. Excluding last weekend's competition, she had won all six of her diving events on the season.
Dietz and the Violets return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 21, when the team faces Swarthmore College on the road.
