On Monday, Nov. 16, senior Zach Maher was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Athlete of the Week in men's cross country. He was honored for his performance at the NCAA Division III Altlantic Region Championship in Geneseio, NY, on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Maher helped guide the Violets to a third-place team finish with his stand-out individual performance. His time of 24:56.10 in the 8,000-meter race was good enough for third place and NCAA All-Atlantic Region honors.
Maher, a 2008 NCAA All-American, and the Violets have qualified and will be running in Saturday's NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship race in Cleveland, OH.
Maher has been named UAA Athlete of the Week four times in his career. This season, he also recieved UAA Most Valuable Runner and First Team All-UAA honors after claiming first-place in the UAA Championship on Oct. 31.
