Thoma-Baker Receives UAA Honor
Sophomore Golfer Earns Award Following Career-Best Round
Thoma-Baker shot a career-best round on Saturday.

Andreas Thoma-Baker of the NYU men’s golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday, Oct. 19.
The sophomore carded a career-low even-par 72 in the first and only round of the NYU/Manhattanville College Golf Classic, which was held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck.
Sunday’s scheduled second round was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Thoma-Baker placed second individually of the 67 golfers who competed over the 6,236-yard course. His performance helped the Violets’ “B” team to a ninth-place finish (322 strokes) in the 12-team competition.
NYU’s “A” team finished in third place (312).
It was the first UAA honor for Thoma-Baker.
