Rain Cancels Final Rounds of NYU-Manhattanville Golf Classic

Because of inclement weather that hit the area and drenched the greens, the final 18 holes of the men's and women's NYU/Manhattanville College Golf Classic have been cancelled. Therefore, Saturday's first round will count as an 18-hole tournament.

On the men's leaderboard, Skidmore College (296) outdistanced the University of Rochester (310) and NYU (312) to finish first among the 12 teams.

Skidmore's Chris Dejohn shot a four-under-par 68 to win individual medalist honors, finishing four strokes ahead of NYU's Andreas Thoma (72) and five ahead of the 73 carded by both Mike Leibfried of NYU and Ryan Williams of Rochester.

The NYU women's team won its first-ever team tournament, with Saturday's round of 360 good for a 45-stroke victory over Hollins College. Columbia University's Nancy Shon shot a five-over 77 to earn individual medalist honors by two strokes over NYU's Theresa Apoznanski, who finished with a 79.
