For the third time this season, New York University sophomore Max Norris was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week after winning both the one-and three-meter dives Saturday against the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Wheaton College on Saturday in Norton, MA.
The Rochester native accumulated 253.57 points in the one-meter dive and earned 255.60 points in the three-meter event. His sweeping performance helped NYU (5-0) defeat the U.S. Coast Guard Academy 179-121 and knock off Wheaton College by a score of 247-46.
Last year’s UAA Champion in both the one- and three-meter dives, Norris has now garnered nine UAA Athlete of the Week honors in his career.
The international relations and pre-medicine major, along with the rest of the Violets swimming and diving team, will take the pool again on Saturday, Nov. 22, for Family/Alumni Day against Swarthmore College at NYU’s Palladium Athletic Facility Natatorium in Manhattan beginning at 2 pm.
